"This is a year where wild things can happen
and I admire Chet Bell for taking on such a formidable
challenge." Wisconsin Lieutenant
Governor Barbara Lawton
“Chet Bell is the type of person that better
reflects the First Congressional District. He’s one of
us, someone who cares about working families. He is not
someone who will give tax breaks to the very fortunate,”
State Rep. James Kreuser (D-Kenosha),
Assembly Minority Leader
"While I was in Congress, we went from having
the largest federal budget deficit in history to the first
surplus in a generation. Chet Bell is well suited to make
the kind of tough decisions we had to make, and at the
same time deliver on our commitments for education, health
care, and job creation." -
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett
A
Few Words From Chet Bell:
I’m Chet Bell, and I’m seeking to represent you as Wisconsin’s
First District member of congress. Sitting elected officials
don’t make public shows of support in contested primaries
lightly. I’m grateful to have the support of Wisconsin
Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton, State Assembly Minority
Leader Jim Kreuser of Kenosha, State Senator Judy Robson
from Rock County, Mayor and former U.S. Representative
Tom Barrett of Milwaukee and former Governor Anthony Earl.
They – as well as a growing number of former elected officials
and Democratic Party leaders and activists – see the need
for more effective advocacy of our interests in Washington.
Your first important vote will be in the fast-approaching
September 14 primary. Our contested race to choose
the Democrat nominee will build our momentum for a competitive
campaign against Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Janesville) who finally
will have to work to keep his job. We’re enthusiastically
seeking your support, and look forward to having you join
us (use the links on this page to get in touch). The general
election is November 2, but because we have to get through
the September 14 primary first, your assistance is crucial
now.
